Kim

Kunkle

Third

Hi! I am Kim Kunkle. This is my third year at VES. However, I did my student teaching here years ago. In 2002 I graduated from Keene State College with a B.S in Elementary Education. For nine years I worked at NewBrook Elementary School in Newfane, Vermont where I was a multi-age first and second grade teacher. My family and I have moved to Vernon and I am very happy to be teaching here as well!

I believe that learning can be and should be fun, engaging and meaningful. I feel that students are most successful when they feel safe, respected and valued. Therefore, I strive to make personal connections with my students and to create a lively, friendly classroom where students interact and learn with and from one another. We can all be teachers and learners! I challenge my students to be inquisitive, creative and kind people who love learning! It is important for learning to happen outside of the classroom, as there is so much to explore. We often go outside to observe our surroundings and engage in hands-on activities involving nature.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two kids, Bowen, 6 and Molly, 3. I also enjoy photography, reading, being outdoors, kayaking, hiking and traveling.
