I graduated from Keene State College with degrees in Music Education and Music Theory in 1997. I taught in Claremont, NH for one year before coming to Vernon in 1999. In addition to teaching, I am also a free-lance trumpet player. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Steve, and our son, Isaac.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime. As always, I am enjoying teaching music to the students at Vernon Elementary School.
Music at Vernon
Vernon students have music once a week to learn the music common core arts standards. Students do this through singing, playing instruments, dancing, listening, and composing their own music. Third grade students have music a second time during the week to learn how to play the recorder.
Vernon students are very lucky to have a strong instrumental program in grades 4-6 with three bands that meet before school: Advanced Band, Beginning Band and Jazz Band. Instrumental Students have 30 minute small group lessons once a week during the school day. This year almost 60% of 4-6 grade students are participating in the instrumental program.
To find out what your child is doing in their music class or for more information about the instrumental program please check out our school music website, vernonvtmusic.weebly.com.
