What happens in Kindergarten? |
|
The Kindergarten curriculum consists of the Fundations Literacy Program, the Investigations Math Program, and a variety of different Science and Social Studies components. Kindergarteners at VES learn through hands-on, socially appropriate interactions during all areas of their day. Specials include Music, Art, P.E., Library, and Technology. Kindergarteners also have 6th Grade “Pals” who they meet with weekly throughout the school year. |

Hi! I’m Kelly Dias and it’s my first year at VES.
In 2005, I graduated from UVM with a B.S. in Elementary Education. After moving to Providence, RI after graduation, I began working in the field of Special Education, which prompted me to obtain my M.Ed. in Special Education from Rhode Island College in 2009. I have taught a variety of grades ranging from K-8, and have also enjoyed working as a Technology Integrationist.
It is my belief that every student brings a different skill set to the classroom, and it is our job as educators to help children hone their strengths as well as identifying areas of growth. Everybody has a story, and can contribute to the classroom community! Outside of school, I enjoy photography, technology, traveling, and spending time outdoors with my family and friends. |
