For the second year in a row, the Student Council at Vernon Elementary School is spearheading a food drive in our community to collect non-perishable food items for Project Feed the Thousands. With that in mind, they hosted a school-wide kick-off  assembly on Thursday November 17th to share some of the information they have gathered about the face of hunger in our state, in Windham County and right here in our community.  We would like to pass on to you some of what they have learned and most especially how their energy and enthusiasm has motivated them to become active and involved.
