We’re Getting Closer...
Arts Night - April 15th 6:30 p.m.
A Message from Mr. Speno
Once again we had a terrific turnout for parent /teacher conferences. It has been great to see so many families coming in to the school to meet with teachers; it is this collective team effort that truly makes a difference in the education of our children. Over this past week we have enjoyed a very festive and fun spirit week. I would like to thank the efforts of our student council for putting in the work to get this week organized. Events like spirit week help bring the school together. If you find the time in your schedule please join us tomorrow afternoon for our culminating event of spirit week the staff versus sixth grade basketball game. This game will also feature a halftime show where students and staff can show off their creative side.
Hello from Ms. Garveyʼs Classroom!
Children in Ms. Garveyʼs classroom are such hardworking, creative, and wonderful children! We are working on reading skills using the Wilson Foundations reading program. Children remember the name of the letter, a picture that reminds them of the letter, and the sound the letter makes (for example: T-Top-/t/). The children go from reading consonant-vowel-consonant words to larger words. They practice reading sight words, reading fluently on their own, and writing sentences. Watching our children learning to read is one of the most beautiful experiences in the world. The pride they feel when they begin to understand the language of reading makes me one of the luckiest teachers in the world! --Ms. Garvey
